Brookweald Cricket Club has played on Weald Road since 1949. New players are welcome at every standard, and membership now runs to more than fifty across three teams.
Three teams, one badge
Two Saturday XIs in the T. Rippon Mid Essex League, which runs twelve divisions and more than fifty clubs across the county, plus a midweek T20 team. All three take new players, and the 49’ers need no league registration.
1st XI
Brookweald 1st XI compete in Division 2 of the Mid Essex League. The team earned promotion last season after finishing 2nd in Division 3, delivering consistent performances across the campaign and securing a well-deserved step up.

Brookweald 2nd XI compete in Division 7 of the Mid Essex League. With a strong squad, the team are realistic contenders for promotion this season and will be pushing hard to secure a move up the divisions.

Brookweald’s midweek T20 team The Brookweald 49'ers returns to action in the Essex Village Cricket T20 League. Led by Ben Dowie and his young guns, the team brings energy and a "thirst" for success.

The club plays in Weald Park, on ground that has been ours since 1949. New practice nets went in during 2024 alongside the clubhouse refit, and there is parking beside the ground.
