When you are arranging a wake, you need somewhere close, calm and easy for everyone to get to. Our clubhouse on Weald Road is a single private room with its own bar and a view across the cricket square, a few minutes from Brentwood town centre, with parking right beside the ground.

Somewhere quiet to remember them
The room is yours for the afternoon, so family and friends can gather in one space without sharing it with the public. The bar can be staffed by the club, or you can make your own arrangements. You are welcome to bring your own caterer. Many families come to us for a gathering straight after a service, so we can have the room open, warm and ready when you arrive.
Easy for every guest
Step-free access was added in our 2024 refit, along with new heating and air conditioning, so older relatives and anyone using a wheelchair or a frame can get in and settle comfortably. There is off-road parking beside the clubhouse and the room is a short drive from Brentwood's churches and the crematoria that serve the area.
A place that means something
For many families the Weald has been part of their lives for years, whether playing, watching or just walking the park. The club has been here since 1949, and we are glad to host people who want to raise a glass to someone in a place they loved.

Daytime hire
Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, minimum 2 hours
Wake or christening
Up to 4 hours, daytime, any day
- Bar staffed by the club at no extra charge for events of 40 or more guests. Smaller events £75 for bar staff.
- Dry hire (no club bar) adds £100.
- Refundable damage deposit of £100 on evening and full-day hires.
- Club members receive 20% off room hire.

How soon can we book a wake?
Let us know the date as soon as you have it. We can often arrange a wake at a few days' notice outside home fixture days.
How many people can come?
The room holds up to 100 guests inside, with more by arrangement using a marquee on the grounds.
Can we bring photos or a memory table?
Yes. There is space for a photo display or a memory table, and we can help with tables when you arrive.
Can we have food?
Yes. Bring your own caterer or arrange a buffet, and we will make sure the room is set up for it.
