Brookweald Cricket Club - 2025 Season Updates

Dear Members,

I hope this message finds you well and as excited as we are for the upcoming cricket season! With just 76 days until our first match, here’s everything you need to know to prepare for 2025.

Annual Subscriptions and Match Fees

To ensure the club runs smoothly, it’s essential that everyone pays their fees on time. Here are the updated fees for this year:

Annual Subscriptions

• Senior Players: £50
• Under-18s: £25
• Social Members: £30

Match Fees

• Senior Matches: £15 per match (£10 if there are no teas)
• Under-18s: £5 per match

Subscriptions must be paid by the end of May. Players who have not paid by this deadline will not be eligible for selection. Invoices will be available in Teamo starting 1st March, with reminders sent closer to the date. Your timely payments are vital for the club’s operations - thank you for your support!

Friendly Matches

We’re excited to announce three friendly matches, all at home, to kick off the season! Please add your availability in Teamo as soon as possible. If we have high player interest, we may arrange additional fixtures, including home-and-away matches. 

• Saturday, 12th April: Brookweald Friendly XI vs. Chelmsford Superkings
• Saturday, 19th April: Brookweald Friendly XI vs. Harold Wood CC
• Saturday, 26th April: Brookweald Friendly XI vs. Abridge CC

T20 Matches

The Brookweald 49’ers are back! Led by Ben Dowie, this team is ready for another exciting season. If you’d like to play, please contact Ben. Even if you’re not on the team, come out to watch - T20 matches are fantastic social events, especially with sunny weather and as always the bar will be open!

League Fixtures

We’re still waiting for the league schedule to be finalised. Once available, the fixtures will be added to Teamo and our Play Cricket site. We will let you know as soon as they are made available by the league

Winter Nets

Shake off the winter rust by joining us for nets on Tuesdays or Wednesdays at Rock Chase Cricket Centre. It’s a great way to prepare for the season. For more details, reach out to Waz, our 1st team captain.

Regular Training Sessions

This season, we’re introducing regular training sessions at The Weald, supported by the installation of a new artificial practice net. Training will take place on Wednesdays or Thursdays, depending on the T20 schedule. We’ll share more details soon.

Brookweald Club & Memorial Days

Building on the success of last year’s Brookweald Club Day, we have upgraded this year it will be a  four-club T20 tournament playing for the Brookweald Cup. Hornchurch Athletic claimed the trophy last year - who will take it this time? The event is scheduled for the 1st Sunday in July. We will add in a rain day just in case the weather doesn't play nice.

Last year, around 150 players and spectators joined us for an unforgettable day. Your support will make this year’s event even better. More details to follow.

We’re also pleased to confirm the Brookweald Memorial Day, set for the first Saturday after the league season ends (likely Saturday, 6th September). Your participation is always appreciated.

Pre-Season Working Party

Help us prepare for the season by joining our Working Party on Saturday, 5th April. This is a great opportunity to pitch in, catch up with friends, and get into the cricket spirit. Every bit of help makes a difference, so we’d love to see you there!
