Having won the toss, Springfield 3rd XI wisely chose to bat in extremely hot conditions. Regular drinks were the order of the day as Brookweald set about producing another vintage bowling performance. Almost all the bowlers contributed, with Finch (4.2/3/27) and Khan (9/3/37) chalking up 3 wickets each. Hepple (6/2/18) and Verma (5/2/17) also chipped in with two wickets each. Which, led to Springfield posting a below-par total of 130 was largely due to a fine lower-order knock of 45 from Swann, which included 8 fours.
Brookweald again started badly, losing 2 quick wickets with some excellent bowling from Thomas (9/2/20), giving Springfield hope. However, an unbeaten 51 from Zia and a powerful 31 from Chapman took Brookweald closer to victory. Khan(18no) and Zia took Brookweald over the line, continuing the 1st XI's good run of form and their march towards the top of the table.
